George Rudolph Zilling

George R. Zilling, age 93, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 23, 2026.

Born on November 16, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, George graduated from Haverford High School before earning his degree from Pennsylvania Military College in 1954. Following graduation, he entered the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant and served as a Commanding Officer at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

George began his professional career as an electrical engineer with General Electric, where he participated in the highly classified CORONA program, America's first satellite reconnaissance effort. He helped develop the film recovery system that returned photographic images from space, a technological breakthrough that transformed intelligence gathering during the Cold War.

After a distinguished engineering career, George transitioned into marketing and executive leadership after meeting Arthur DeMoss. He became Vice President of National Liberty Corporation in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, later served as President of the Mail Order Division of Spencer Gifts, where he oversaw domestic, European, and Asian operations, and concluded his career as President of the Consumer List Management Division of Direct Media in Greenwich, Connecticut. There he led the modernization of the company's computer systems, transitioning from Basic Four to DMI III technology.

George retired in 2001, and he and his beloved wife, Bunny, moved to Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

George's interests were as varied as they were enduring. He enjoyed photography, sailing, model trains, computers, and following his favorite teams—the New York Yankees, the Dallas Cowboys, and Duke Men's Basketball. He loved the many dogs that were part of his family throughout the years and never lost his fascination with the beauty and wonder of God's creation.

A devoted member of All Saints Church in Pawleys Island, George generously shared his time and talents in numerous ministries. His unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life. He remained a faithful servant, devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather until his final breath.

George is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Alice "Bunny" K. Zilling; his children, Eric Zilling (Holly), Susan Albright Boehmig (Stu Boehmig), Mark Zilling (Cathi), and Kristen Kreuzkamp (Gus Kreuzkamp); his grandchildren, Justin Zilling, Hilary Albright Hauch (Charlie), Charlotte Albright Todd (Cameron), Emmeline Albright Carney (William), Callie Zilling Bove (Matthew), Lindsay Zilling DeLisio (Landon), Grace Zilling, A.J. Kreuzkamp IV, and Charles "Chip" Kreuzkamp; and his great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Kelley, Felicity, and Grace.

George will be remembered for his quiet strength, humility, unwavering integrity, brilliant mind, generous spirit, and steadfast faith. Above all, he will be remembered as a man who loved God, loved his family deeply, and lived a life of service to both.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at All Saints Church, Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
