George Dominello Obituary

George Allan Dominello, 76, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020, at his home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.

Born September 8, 1944, he grew up in Meriden, Connecticut, and graduated from Maloney High School. George was an educated man, graduating from Husson College in Bangor, Maine. He had a heart of gold. His love for helping people in need led him to have a successful career as an insurance agent, spending many years in Cromwell, CT. Following his retirement to South Carolina, George stayed active playing golf, traveling, and enjoying time with friends. However, he never stopped being an insurance agent, always reaching out to help his clients.

In his passing, George is reunited with his beloved wife Judy (Zellman) Dominello, his father Raymond Dominello and his daughter JoAnne (Dominello) Rainey.

Left to cherish George’s memory are his mother, Lois Dominello of Meriden, CT; his daughter, Jill Dominello of Coventry CT; his sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Dan Iwanicki of Higganum CT; his niece, Jennifer Iwanicki of New York, NY; his grandson, Sean Toutant of Coventry, CT; his son-in-law Charles Rainey of St. Petersburg, FL; his step greatgrandchildren, Jaime and Oliver Bedolla of Harlingen, TX , as well as several cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

Jill and Lynn wish to thank the many kind caregivers and friends who assisted George in his daily life over the years. They became part of his extended family by way of their warmth and friendship.

A celebration of George’s life will be held privately at a later date.

George was a generous supporter of numerous organizations including St. Jude, Paralyzed Vets, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and Feeding of America
