Evelyn “Eddie” Irene Johnson, age 73, passed away peacefully Sunday November 12, 2023, at Honorage Nursing Center in Florence, SC.

Born in Bakersfield, CA, Eddie was the daughter of the late Tom and Esther McFiren. She was formerly of California, Maryland, and Tennessee. Eddie was a member of the Southern California Knights Bike Club and Girl Scouts of America. She was an avid reader who enjoyed exploring her family’s genealogy, miniature houses, painting, and charcoal portraiture. Eddie also loved cross stitch, ceramics, cake decorating, science experiments, puzzles and making costumes. But her greatest love was being a Grandma and Great Grandma.

In addition to her parents, Eddie is preceded in death by her loving husband, William “BJ” Johnson and her brother, Thomas Jefferson McFiren, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Amanda and Jonathan, Florence, SC; grandchildren, Loki, Kim, Scott, Brittany, Leia, Ileana, and Gryphon; great grandchildren, Revan, and Diana; brother, Marvin McFiren and nephew, Pete McFiren, Shady Side MD.

No formal services will be held at this time.

The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Will and Martina Wiggins, Helen Park, John Stillwell, Sam and Timmy Clevenger, Bridget and Robbie McLaughlin, Danny McWilliams, Lando and Sherrie Johnson and Honorage Nursing Home.
