Edward Walter VanCor, 71, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday December 29, 2020 at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on January 29, 1949 in Brockton, Massachusetts to the late Arthur R. VanCor & Alfreda A. LaBrecque VanCor.
Ed was a friendly man with a genuine heart of gold. He would gladly offer the shirt from his back, to anyone in need. Ed’s passion for helping people, lead him to be a successful and admired teacher in the Massachusetts school system for many years. Following his retirement and relocation to Myrtle Beach, Ed was able to enjoy the finer things in life. Ed enjoyed making memories with his friends and continued to volunteer his time with Grand Strand Medical Center. Above all else, Ed loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Ed’s memory are his brother, Peter A. VanCor and his wife, Carolyn of Myrtle Beach; sister, Barbara Almeida and her husband, Edward of Fredericksburg, VA; niece, Tanya; nephews, Cory, Devin & Aaron; great-nieces, Addison, Abby, Hannah, Lila & Morgan; great-nephews, Grant Lucas & Asher; as well as many supportive friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of Ed’s life will be held privately.
At the request of the family, please consider memorial contributions in lieu of flowers. Donations in Ed’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
