Edward Joseph McDade
Edward Joseph McDade, 80, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on, Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. He was born May 25, 1945 in Glasgow, Scotland, son of the late, James and Mary McDade.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, George, and Jim McDade; as well as a nephew, Mark McDade.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Shirley McDade of Myrtle Beach, SC; two step-children, John King of Old Bridge, NJ and Theresa Ditolla of West Berlin, NJ; grandchildren, John Christopher King and his wife, Angela, Christopher King, Kassidy McDivett and her husband, Dan and Kevin Ditolla; great grandchildren, Judah, Gianna and one little girl coming soon; sister-in-law, Jeanette McDade; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ed proudly served in the United States Navy and Vietnam War. He was awarded with three Purple Hearts during his time in the Navy.
He was a member and past president of the VFW 3448. He enjoyed spending time hunting, bird watching, fishing, and canoeing.
A funeral in Ed’s honor will be held on Friday July 25, 2025 at 10am at The Church of the Resurrection, 8901 US Highway 17 Bypass South, Surfside Beach, SC 29575.
