Edward John Dovin, 80, passed away peacefully Tuesday September 16, 2025, at Portside at Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Formerly of Richmondale, PA, Ed was born in Carbondale, PA the son of the late Joseph Dovin and Helen (Heholick) Dovin.
Ed was a graduate of Fell Township High School in Simpson, PA. He received an associate's degree from Lackawanna College in Scranton, PA and a Hotel General Managers Degree from Holiday Inn University in Memphis, TN. Ed retired from Holiday Inn in Culpeper, VA after a long career in the hospitality industry then moving to Myrtle Beach, SC. A member of the Knights of Columbus and the Rotary Club, Ed enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises and dining out with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his sister, Trudy (Dovin) Zerchak of Simpson, PA.
Ed is survived by his 3 brothers, Joseph (Susan) Dovin, Browndale, PA; Eugene “Jim” (Beatrice) Dovin, Richmondale, PA; Robert Dovin, Forest City, PA; 3 sisters, Joyce (James) Sheppard, Schenectady, NY; Carol Surace, Myrtle Beach, SC; Paulette Niedopytalski, Great Bend, PA; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
A mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday September 27, 2025, at St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church with interment following in St. John’s Cemetery in Richmondale, PA.
