Edna (Gilmore) Johnson

Edna Johnson, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday March 23, 2020 at Embrace Hospice House of the Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born on April 16, 1934 in Loris, South Carolina to the late Jesse M. Gilmore & Lottie (Cox) Gilmore.

Along with her parents, Edna is reunited in death with her first husband, Benjamin Calder who passed in 1997, as well as her second husband, Howard Johnson who passed in 2008; she is also preceded in passing by her brothers, Ben, Harry, Raleigh & her sister, Pearl.

Edna was a very faithful woman with a heart of gold. In her younger years, she was a skilled secretary. She loved traveling and making memories with her family. She will forever be remembered for her devotion to our Lord and for the amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend she truly was. 

Left to cherish Edna’s memory are her beloved children, Linda Harrah of Florida, Deborah Radford of Murrells Inlet, Michael of Florida & Bryan of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Molly Jacobs & Dalma Holt; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family, and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Edna’s life will be held at a later date. Service details will be announced when finalized.
