Dr. Brian James Fortman

It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Brian James Fortman announces his passing at home on February 19, 2019 at 48 years of age.He is survived by two daughters, Sarah and Corinne, and his wife Laura Fortman of Murrells Inlet SC. Son of Henny and the late Ronald A. Fortman, he is also survived by his sisters, Diane (Dennis Winicki) and Trish (Jay Rich), and brothers, Ron (Mary Ann) and Dave (Marsha), 4 nieces, and 2 nephews of Buffalo, NY.  

Brian was a highly regarded neuroradiologist who practiced with Carolina Radiology Associates in Myrtle Beach for the past 17 years. He enjoyed fishing, had an avid appreciation for music, and had recently become a skilled guitarist. His Catholic faith and family were the pillars of his life.

 
Services for Dr. Brian Fortman will be held on Saturday, March 30th in Key West, Florida. All who knew and loved Brian are invited to join us and wish him farewell.
A Funeral will be held at 1pm at the Basilica of Saint Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1010 Windsor Lane,  Key West, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:45 to 6:45pm at Thai Island Restaurant, 711 Eisenhower Drive, Key West, FL. Immediately afterwards, family and friends are asked to meet at 7pm at Key West's Charter Boat Row, 1801 N. Roosevelt Boulevard, Key West, FL. There will be a final flotilla journey, leaving the dock at approximately 7:15pm to lay Brian's ashes to rest on his beloved ocean at sunset. 

In order to make proper accommodations, it is necessary to have a head count of guests. Please contact Laura Fortman directly with a count of persons planning to attend by March 24th.
