It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Schultze, born August 9, 1957, from Irvington, NJ, who departed this life on April 13, 2026 at the age of 68.
Douglas was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Denise Schultze, his parents, Elaine “Terry” Schultze and Harold Schultze and his beloved dog Lola.
Douglas leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his children: Lauren (Mike), Nicole (Jr.), and Ryan (Lindsay); and his cherished grandchildren: Collin, Ethan, Rylan, Harper, Gabriel, Noah and Will, who were truly the light of his life. He is also survived by his brother, David (Kathy), along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Douglas found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved camping and spending time outdoors, bowling, watching NASCAR races, and cheering on his favorite teams, the New York Mets, New York Rangers, and New England Patriots. He dedicated many years of his life to working for The Coca-Cola Company, where he built lasting friendships and took pride in his work.
A Viewing/Visitation will be held where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate his life on Wednesday April 22, 2026, from 6pm to 8pm at Burroughs Funeral Home 3558 Old Kings Hwy Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday April 23, 2026, at 10am at St. Michael Catholic Church 542 Cypress Avenue Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery at 1000 SC-544 Conway, SC 29526
