Douglas Joseph Langlois

Douglas Joseph Langlois, 76, took his golf game to the heavens on Wednesday November 6, 2019 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on January 23, 1943 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to the late Arthur Langlois & Wilhelmina (Authier) Langlois.

Along with his parents, Doug is reunited in death with his siblings, Thomas, Robert, Edmond, Harry "Richard", Joseph, Ernest, George Langlois & Marjorie Mellino.

Doug was a hardworking man with a marvelous sense of humor. He loved to laugh and have fun with everyone he met. Because of his outgoing personality, Doug never met a stranger. He was a skilled auto mechanic who loved to work with his hands. Following his well-deserved retirement, Doug was able to be the avid golfer he always dreamed of and enjoyed working as a ranger at the Heritage Golf Club. When he wasn’t on the course, he was bowling with his friends. Doug was a very passionate person and was a proud American and Catholic. His friends and family describe him as Champion of the World on the 18th hole. In his downtime, Doug relished cheering on all Boston sports teams. He will be remembered for his singing as he had a beautiful voice, and his infectious whistling. Above all else, Doug loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Doug’s memory are his beloved wife of 58 years, Mrs. Bernardine “Bea” M. Langlois of Murrells Inlet, SC; their adoring children, Lynne Ann Sutphen (Eric) of Bridgewater, NJ & Christopher Douglas Langlois (Mary Ann) of Amherst, NY; grandchildren, Douglas John Marino, Theodore "Ted" Langlois, Gregory Langlois, Eric “EJ” Sutphen, & Tyler Sutphen; brother, Francis Langlois (Delores) & sisters, Alice Jane Scala, & Gail DiNardo; his dear fur-grandbabies, Bruin & Angus; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as a multitude of supportive friends, and neighbors.

A Celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Monday November 11, 2019 at 10:00AM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
