Dorothy Ann Jemal passed away suddenly on her 98th birthday at her son and daughter-in-law's home in Murrells Inlet, SC. She was born in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Frank and Pauline Dotey. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Liz Jemal, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy grew up in Southern California and graduated from Montebello HS in 1940. She married Marine Air Corp Captain William A. Tulk in 1944 and remained married until he was killed in action during the Korean War in 1952.
In 1959, she was remarried to Emile Jemal and they relocated to the New York metropolitan area. Over her many years in New York, she was a den mother for her son's cub scout pack, a circle leader at church and a volunteer at the local hospital. In addition, she was able to travel extensively, including trips to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East.
A loving wife, mother, aunt, and loyal friend, she was truly a proud member of the Greatest Generation.
Due to the on-going pandemic, burial in New York will take place at a late date.
