Dorothea Regina Porter

Dorothea Regina Hickman Porter, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2023, in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Dorothea was born on August 8, 1933, in Baltimore, MD daughter of the late, Laurence and Dorothy Henning Hickman.

Dorothea went to Western High School in Baltimore, MD. She worked for and retired from Westinghouse Defense Center in Linthicum, MD. Dorothea was a devoted Catholic, loved music and spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening, reading, working cross word puzzles, and playing Skip-Bo.

In addition to her parents, Dorothea was predeceased by her sister Margaret Keimig and her grandchild PJ Aure.

Left to cherish Dorothea’s memory are her loving spouse of fifty-three years, Albert Porter of Murrells Inlet, SC; seven children, Debbie Hayes (Bo), Heidi Pope (Bruce), Kimmy Young, Laurie Sedghi, Pat Nile, Regina Pippin (Glenn, Jr.) and April Lowe (Dennis Jr.); sixteen grandchildren, Jason and Jeremy Hayes, Megan Tedford, Romy Aure, Tony Aure, Theresa, Taylor and Tara Pope, Elita Hetzel, Mindy Courtney, Markie Peterman, Heather Jurkowski (Rich), Heidi Monheim, Helena Harmon (Shane), Chris Maravillas, and Hannah Cangco; great grandchildren, Drew & Dane Tedford, Jackson Hayes, Izzy & Phoebe Black, Savannah & Zarina Aure, Winter Brooke & Savannah Cave, Glenn Pippin III, Greyson Porter Pippin, Brennan & Bailey Lowe, Monroe Peterman, Morgan Curry, Hailey, Kimberly & Madison Courtney, Phoenix, Craig, Brett Kimber & Damon Herberle, Mikayla & Hailey Camero, Bryan & Kearson Harmon, Haven Shipp, Brandon Throngard, Jackson Cangco; two great great-grandchildren, Thomas Green and Guinevere Ryan; and many more relatives.
