Diane Marie (Orsi) Whitcomb
January 17, 1959 ~ February 8, 2024 (age 65) 65 Years Old
Diane Marie Orsi Whitcomb, 65, passed away peacefully while holding hands, lying in bed next to her beloved husband on Thursday February 8, 2024 at their longtime home in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. She was born on January 17, 1959 in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Diane was a hardworking woman with a heart of gold. She was a skilled and dedicated agent and associate with One Source Risk Management, where she was their first employee and where she made lifelong friends. While in Massachusetts, Diane was a dedicated supporter of Why Me & Sherry’s House- a wonderful non-profit organization dedicated to providing love and support services to families with childhood cancer. Diane’s selflessness was evident in all of her undertakings. Following Diane’s relocation to Surfside Beach, she was able to enjoy the finer things in life. In her free time, Diane relished to spent with her family and seeking out adventures. She and her husband spent an extensive amount of time traveling the world. In her down time, Diane was an avid crafter and would excel at any media she put her mind to. Whether it was quilting, painting, making dolls or decorating oyster shells, Diane always had others in mind. Recently, Diane decided to share her crafts with anyone who would have liked a piece- for a small donation. Diane then donated the proceeds to Sherry’s House so that they may carry on their mission. Whether she was crafting, spending time with the family or planning their next excursion, Diane met every task with grace and compassion. She will forever be remembered for her quick wit, her bright smile and the positive outlook she had for every day. Diane will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of getting to know her.
Left to cherish Diane’s memory are her adoring husband of over 35 years, Ronald MacRae Whitcomb of Surfside Beach, SC; her parents, Richard & Joan Laramie Orsi of Spencer, MA; stepchildren, Scott Whitcomb and his wife, Heather of MA & Jodie Krueger and her partner, Eric Westberg of MA; grandchildren, Madison, Cameryn, Gavin Whitcomb & Haley and Seth Krueger and Victor Ruiz; sister, Anita Rosiello and her partner, Scott Carpenter of MA; niece, Christina Freeman and her children, Mikaela, Dallas & Graham; as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive neighbors and friends.
A Celebration of Diane’s life will be held privately.
At the request of the family, please consider memorial contributions in lieu of flowers. Donations may be made to Why Me & Sherry’s House, at, https://whyme.org/get-involved/donate/
