Diane Haddle Obituary

Diane B. Haddle, 83, of Murrells Inlet, SC, died on Friday, January 26, 2024. She was born on February 11, 1940, to the late Frank and Peggy Burnside.

Diane was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary. She got her undergraduate degree at Wellesley College and later went back to school at Kings College and received her master’s in finance. She worked as a CPA at Parente Randolph Orlando Carey Associates until she retired. Diane was a member of the Junior League of Wilkes-Barre and the AICPA.

She was a generous person with her time, expertise, and friendship. Whether it was mentoring two of her grandchildren in the art of finance, listening to anyone who needed an ear, or being the first friendly face to new neighbors, Diane was always naturally kind and supportive. Her selflessness is what many admired about her and will for many, what she will be remembered for.

Diane was a fan of Penn State football and travelled to many of their games. She attended numerous Willie Nelson concerts. Diane also loved her many dogs and, of course, her Boston Red Sox. In her spare time, she loved spending time on the beach and with her family.

As an avid walker, she informally started the High Point Acres ladies evening walks around “the circle”. Later, in her retirement, Diane walked 6 miles a day through 2020. Everyone in Blackmoor knew her from seeing her out walking. She continued to get her steps in while she was in memory care as well, using her rollator to walk up and down the halls every day.

In addition to her parents, Diane is preceded in death by her husband Bill Haddle; her sister, Patricia Post and her brother, Frank “Mike” Burnside.

Survivors include her daughter, Marianne Revie; her sister Priscilla “Bonnie” Mills; stepchildren, Tim Haddle, Sue Lauer, Bill Haddle, Jr, Dan Haddle, along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Legacy Village of Murrells Inlet for the compassion and care they have provided.

A celebration of Diane’s life will be held later this year in Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers the family requests you consider a memorial donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
