Delores Elaine (Teeter) Beck

Delores Elaine Beck, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday September 13, 2021 at her home in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. She was born on July 13, 1949 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late William W. Teeter & Annie Skidmore Teeter.

Along with her parents, Delores is reunited in passing with her first husband, O’Neal Strickland and second husband, Larry Beck; daughter, Carolyn “Tot” Strickland; her brothers, Eddie, Billy, & Melvin as well as her sister, Shirley Snyder.

Delores was a hard-working woman with a heart of gold. She was a skilled housekeeper for many years and relished time spent with family and friends. In her free time, Delores could be found selflessly volunteering her time to Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church, The American Legion, Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church and All Saints Episcopal Church. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her strong faith and love for her family.

Left to cherish Delores’ memory are her son, James “Jimbo” Strickland of Pawleys Island; daughter, Cheryl “CK” Strickland (Terry Cabanaw) of Pawleys Island; grandchildren, Jack & Jayden; sisters, Martha Hooks (Ed) & Barbara Collins (Wade) all of Harrisburg, NC; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Delores’ life will be held privately.
