Delisa Gail Baucom

Delisa Gail Baucom, age 64, of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Tideland Waccamaw Community Hospital with her beloved lifelong friend and companion, Jim Pollock, by her side.

Born on January 11, 1962, in Monroe, North Carolina, Delisa was the cherished daughter of Gail Mullis Baucom and the late Joe H. Baucom.

Delisa was a gentle soul with a free spirit who always saw the best in others. Her kindness, compassion, and creativity touched everyone she met, and she truly never met a stranger. She treasured spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and meaningful conversations.

She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially living near the ocean and spending time in nature. Delisa had a special love for animals and cared deeply for the many beloved pets she had throughout her life. Passionate about local history, she participated in historical reenactments for many years, sewing her own costumes and hosting plantation tours. A gifted musician, Delisa played the piano by ear, enjoyed playing the guitar, and loved singing with family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving mother, Gail Mullis Baucom; her sisters, Tracey McInnis (David) of Monroe, North Carolina, and Wendy Griffin (Lane) of Monroe, North Carolina; her brother, Seth Baucom (Amanda Hicks) of Monroe, North Carolina; her nieces, Bethany Baucom and Shea Griffin; and her lifelong friend and devoted companion, Jim Pollock of Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

Delisa's warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Private services will be held by the family.
