David “Mickey” Earl Holley, Sr., 83, of Murrells Inlet, SC, formerly of KY, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. He was born October 25, 1942, in Danville, KY, son of the late, Earl E. Holley and Alma T. Baugh Holley.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine Sue Holley (Readnour); a sister, Peggy Lanham; brother, Buddy Holley; and one great grandchild, Talon Grey Hartless.
Survivors include two sons, David Earl Holley, Jr. of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Buddy Shane Holley and his wife, Amy of Orlando, FL; two daughters, Pat Whitehouse of Bedford, VA and Katrinka Smith and her husband, Russ of Goode, VA; grandchildren, David Holley, III. (Chaise), Holley Perkins (Ken), Taylor Gokee (Mike), Stephen Smith (Stephanie), Andrew Holley, Sarah Pittard (Lindsey), Logan Gray, Shanna Holley and Michael Holley; great grandchildren, Braylon Holley, Amelia Perkins, Victoria Smith, Deegan Holley, Eason Holley, Micah Smith, Kolson Pittard and Fynlie Taylor; as well as a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
Before retiring to Murrells Inlet, SC, Mickey worked as the Store Manager for Lowes in Lynchburg, VA for many years.
He was an active and proud member of Murrells Inlet Church of God, where he enjoyed volunteering at the food bank.
