James David Henderson, 71, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and daughters on Thursday, October 16, 2025. David was born in High Point, NC on July 1, 1954, to the late James Preston and Ruby Evelyn Harris Henderson.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his son, Bradley Ray Henderson.
David is survived by his wife Joy Pace Henderson, of Myrtle Beach: three daughters, Tennille Henderson and husband Kevin Arnot of Aynor, SC, Roslyn Henderson of Aynor, SC and Danielle Bryant and husband Eric of Dillon, SC; seven grandchildren, James Hunter, Harley, Harris, Everly Rose, Brodie, Deegan and Emery; his sister, Jamie Harrington and husband Lanny of Cherry Grove, SC; his brother, Preston Henderson of Charlotte, NC; and many extended family members.
David was a hardworking man with a heart of gold who dedicated his working years to Mid Atlantic Drainage. Following his well-deserved retirement from the company, David and Joy traveled and had many adventures. David was a proud member of the Conway Masonic Lodge and an Omar Shriner. David loved to feel the wind on his face and the sun on his shoulders while riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. His love of being on his bike brought him to be an active member of the Harley Brigade. David loved being outside and around engines of all kinds, leading him to enjoy days at many racetracks including Myrtle Beach Speedway where he competed and won Track Champion several times. David proudly instilled his love for the outdoors in his children and grandchildren and has created lifelong memories of hunting, fishing, time playing, laughing and joking with his family. He will be deeply missed.
A memorial service with Masonic Rites will be held at 5:30 PM Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet with visitation to follow.
