Corona "Nunny" Magner Obituary

Corona “Nunny” Marion Magner, 96, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Embrace Hospice House of the Grand Strand. She was born April 26, 1925, in Pascoag, RI, daughter of the late William Tobin and Corona Sabourin Tobin.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John J. Magner, Jr.; sister, Dorothy Place; and a brother, William Tobin.

Survivors include her daughter, Anne Marie McCloskey and her husband, William of Murrells Inlet, SC; one son, John R. Magner and his partner, Pam of Green Bay, WI; one brother-in-law, Michael J. Kopeski; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Corona was a graduate of Burrillville Rhode Island High School, Class of 1943. She worked for the United States Postal Service as a clerk forty-seven years, retiring in 1990.

Corona was very involved in the Catholic faith, particularly in Georgetown, Massachusetts where she lived for eighteen years.

A funeral mass will be held 10:00am Monday, September 20, 2021 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Avenue, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 with Father Ed Fitzgerald officiating.

Burial will be held in St. Patricks Cemetery in Pascoag, RI at a later date.
