Conrad Joseph Fleischhauer, 92, of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, passed away on May 1, 2026, at his residence. He was born on June 23, 1933, in Long Island City, New York, son of the late, Conrad Charles Fleischhauer and Florence Haibet Fleischhauer.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Catherine Fleischhauer; his son, Robert F. Fleischhauer.
Conrad served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 with the 85th Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division. He was nominated for soldier of the month three times and was described by his superiors as “an outstanding man among men.” He retired from Elco Corp. after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed spending time traveling, visiting over forty countries and forty-five different islands. He also enjoyed eating out and showing off his sports cars; as well as his dachshunds.
He will be greatly missed by his friends near and far, especially his best friend, David Carney and family of Surfside Beach, who loved and cared for him for many years.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00am Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery, 2408 S. Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
