Christopher Dennis Monahan, 70, passed away peacefully Saturday July 26, 2025 at National Health Care in Garden City, SC.
Born in Bridgeport, CT, Mr. Monahan was the son of the late Garry John Monahan and Aimee (Money) Monahan.
An avid reader, Mr. Monahan was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Boston Celtics and New York Yankees. He was a great caretaker of his sister, Eileen and his brother Paul through their illnesses. Mr. Monahan was a former EMT for the Bridgeport Ambulance Service and a dispatcher for the Bridgeport, CT Fire and Police Departments. He was a member of the Bridgeport Elks, German Club of Bridgeport, CT and BARF - Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Monahan was preceded in death by is sister, Eileen Monahan and his brother, Paul Monahan.
Survivors include his son, Garry Monahan (Kiley Griffin) of Banbury, England; brother, Greg Monahan (Loni) of Crossville, TN; former wife and best friend, Rory Standish of Murrells Inlet, SC; wonderful friends, Doug and Laura Smith; many cousins both in Connecticut and England and many friends and former coworkers in Bridgeport, CT.
In keeping with Mr. Monahan’s wishes no service will be held at this time.
