Christopher Tyler Cox

Christopher Tyler Cox, 27, passed away on Thursday June 10, 2021 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on October 9, 1993 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Chris was a hardworking young man with a heart of gold. He had an outgoing personality that never allowed his to meet a stranger. Chris had a smile that could light up the darkest room and had the most amazing blue eyes that told his story. He was a talented cook who worked in the restaurant industry for many years. In his free time, Chris relished time spent with his family, and making memories with fiends. In his free time, he loved skateboarding. His passions in life were his family and music. Chris will be deeply missed be forever remembered for his quick wit, bright smile and love for his family.

Left to cherish Chris’ memory are his mother, Angela Renee Smith of Murrells Inlet, SC; father, Ronald Lee Cox of Mooresville, NC; sister, Stephanie Cox of Murrells Inlet, SC; grandmother, Brenda Raines; several aunts and uncles; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

Chris is reunited in death with his paternal grandparents, Joseph & Mary Cox as well his maternal great-grandmother, Ruby Raines and his best friend, AJ Wilson.

A Celebration of Chris’ life will be held on Saturday June 12, 2021 at 2:00PM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
