Christopher T. Cochran

February 16, 1952 ~ September 11, 2023 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Christopher T. Cochran of Pawley’s Island died peacefully Sept. 11, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was 71.

He was born Feb. 16, 1952, in Burgaw, NC., the son of adopted parents Bill and Dolores Cochran and his biological mother Kathryn Geiger.  He married Alice Cochran in 1980.

Chris enjoyed playing football and baseball.  In college he played football at the University of Bridgeport, coached at Davidson college, and later coached his son’s baseball teams.  The biggest Yankee’s fan you’ll ever meet.  After college, Chris and his wife Alice went on to start a printing business where they worked together for over 30 years.  They later moved to Pawley’s Island, SC and enjoyed the sun and sand together.  Spent many evenings with new and old friends and chasing his granddaughter across the beach.

Chris was an active member at Christ United Methodist Church, Charlotte, NC.  He often volunteered for church functions and spent many nights helping shelter the homeless.

Chris is survived by his wife Alice Cochran of Pawleys Island; son’s Jonathan Cochran (April) of Lincolnton, NC and Matt Cochran (Ashley) of Belmont, NC: granddaughter Sadie Cochran of Lincolnton, NC;  brother Pete Cochran (Suzanne) of Emerald Isle, NC; sister Debby Cochran of Washington; brother Alfonso Geiger of Tennessee: sister Beth Olsen (Dan) of Belding, MI; Lesley Alles (Doug) of Greenville, MI; brother Robert Geiger (Judy) of Belding, MI; sister Barbara Geiger who passed away in 2021; and other extended family members.
