Our champion and beloved Christa Ashley Dyson found eternal peace and passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. While her death was unexpected, Ashley’s short time with us would prove to be inspiring, powerful, and influential. While we mourn our loss through shed tears; accompanied by moments of despair and sorrow, we strive to remain strong and forever grateful for the unending support from our loving families and dearest friends.
Ashley was born September 8, 1990, in Winston-Salem, NC. Throughout her life, Ashley also spent time building friendships and creating foundations within the Coastal Region and rural cities in South Carolina, and the Great Lake areas of Michigan.
Ashley was a born winner with an easy-going, competitive mindset, and a smile so beautiful it could stop the waves from crashing. She loved to play softball (winning back-to-back state championships at St. James High School), singing joyfully to country music and enjoying the calming nature of a salty coastal breeze.
It is impossible to capture the true essence of a person’s personality in an obituary. Ashley was hilarious, and warm, and fearless, and resilient. She could and would talk to anyone and when you were in her company you wanted to stay. She loved her family and the world. She was adored as a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend and being loved by Ashley was a constantly astonishing gift.
Ashley is survived by her parents, Mark and Katina Dyson; her brother, Daniel Dyson; sister, Nichole Dyson; sister-in-law, Ali Cole Dyson; grandparents, Shirley Dyson and Dorothy Mabe; nephews, Miles and Emory; niece, Kylee; aunts, Teresa Moore, Dawn Cook and April Dyson; uncle, Danny Talbert; cousins, Brandi, Brittany, Lauren, Tara and Jennifer; and her loving partner, Lindsay Pard.
A celebration of Ashley’s life will be held all day Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Myrtle Beach State Park, 4401 S Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29575. A service will take place at 4:00pm.
