Cheryl Ann (Alexander) Baird

Cheryl Ann Baird (Alexander), 72, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2025 after a lengthy battle with cancer surrounded by the love of her family.

Cheri was born on August 23, 1953 in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Pasty and Jeane Alexander and grew up in Cuyahoga Falls amidst her family, friends and faith. She was a Radiology Technician at Children’s Hospital of Akron, Ohio, and continued the love for her career at Falls Orthopedic Surgeons.

She lived a life filled with warmth, laughter and an endless appreciation for the simple wonders of life. Cheri found the beauty in the everyday, most especially in the quiet splendor of a sunrise. Whether on the shores of Garden City Beach or from the porch of her home, she cherished those first rays of light as reminders of hope, renewal and grace.

Her happiest moments and greatest treasures were spent with family and friends – gathering around a meal, traveling, and sharing stories filled with her beautiful laughter. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, seen and loved. Her warmth was matched by her enduring strength, and her heart as wide as the ocean she adored.

She leaves behind the love of her life, Keith Baird, and the devoted life they built for over 51 years, daughters Heather (Eric) and Sara, sisters Sue (Phil) and Kathy (Jim), soulmate Patrish, and her dearest nieces and nephews and their children.

Cheri’s life will be honored with a Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Akron, Ohio. Family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am.
