Charlotte J (Barthe) Young

Charlotte Josephine Barthe Young, 92 of Murrells Inlet, SC, passed away Wednesday July 1, 2020 peacefully in her sleep at Tidelands Waccamaw Hospital.

Born on December 7, 1927 in Gloversville, NY, she was the daughter of the late John Barthe and Helen Brideau. She settled in Charlotte, NC retired after 25 years with JC Penney, Park Road and moved to Murrells Inlet, SC in 1990. She went on to work for Kosignment Korner, Myrtle Beach and then Consignment @ 5th, Surfside Beach.

Survivors include her Sisters, Clara (Barthe) Albanese, Helen (Barthe) Strathaus, and Joan (Barthe) Richards all of Gloversville, NY. Loving mother of Sandra (Young) Swaringen, Murrells Inlet, SC Ronald (Gloria) Young, Michael (Lori Ann) Young, Georgetown SC, Karen (Young) (Mike) Eller, Surfside Beach, SC David (Lisa) Young, Charlotte, NC, Daughter in Law Judith Young, Murrells Inlet, SC 13 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces & nephews, friends and dearest friend, Dean Cooper. She was preceded in death by her sons Gary Marvin Young and Bryan Delbert Young.

She will always be remembered as a fun-loving woman who was full of energy. She had a vibrant personality and loved to dance. She loved being around people and loved to socialize. She was sweet with a side of zest. She was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important. We shall never forget her million dollar smile nor the twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes. She will be incredibly missed by all.

Burroughs Funeral Home oversees the arrangements. A memorial service will be planned at a future date. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Charlotte, NC
