Charles "Chuck" F. Schaffer

Charles (Chuck) F. Schaffer, Jr, 81, of Indian Trail, NC , passed peacefully Friday, December 9, 2022 with his daughters at his bedside.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Florence Schaffer; Sister, Ann Swaim; Brother, William (Bill) Schaffer and his beloved wife, Arlene.

Chuck was born in Connecticut in 1941. He went on to become a Firefighter in his hometown of Fairfield. Thereafter, he owned several small businesses. Chuck married Arlene in 1981. After raising their combined family, Chuck and Arlene relocated to Murrells Inlet, SC in 2005. Chuck later moved to Cumming, GA and Indian Trail, NC.

Chuck is survived by his daughters, Laurie Schaffer of Cumming, GA; Joan (Chris) Fichter of Indian Trail, NC. Sons, Mark Vasilescu of Stratford, CT; Brian Vasilescu of Milford CT and Paul (Vivian) Vasilescu of Shelton, CT. Grandchildren, Ryan and Marisa Sobol; Corinne and Haley Fichter; Brooke (Pat) Vasilescu O’Conner; Jake and Nick Vasilescu; Tyler and Troy Vasilescu. Great Grandson, Jackson O’Conner.

A celebration of Chuck's life will be held 3:00pm Friday, April 14, 2023 at Burroughs Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3558 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
