Charles "Charlie" Owen Stiltner, 51, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 2, 1975, Charlie was a devoted father, son, brother, grandfather, and cousin whose humor, loyalty, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Samantha Coppola and husband William, of Bluefield, West Virginia; his son, Owen Stiltner, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; his beloved granddaughter, Evelyn "Evie", of Bluefield, West Virginia; his mother, Linda Stiltner, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; his father, Leon Stiltner and wife Laurenda, of Thompson Valley, Virginia; his brother, Leon "George" Edward Stiltner, of Thompson Valley, VA; his grandmother, Patsy Garrison Shultz, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; and a grandson on the way, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved him very much.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lonnie Stiltner, Sr., Nancy Stiltner, and James Garrison.
Charlie enjoyed football, NASCAR, and spending time with the people he loved most. He was a lifelong fan of the Washington Commanders, though those closest to him knew you could never convince him they would not one day change their name back to the Redskins.
Some of Charlie's happiest moments were spent attending NASCAR races with his father and brother, and fishing in the backyard pond and playing catch with Owen. Above all else, Charlie loved his family. He was especially proud of his children and cherished every opportunity to talk about their accomplishments and the lives they were building.
While Charlie's journey in life was not always easy, he never stopped loving his family, and they never stopped loving him. In his final moments, he was surrounded by his mother and father - the same people who were with him when he first entered this world. His family finds comfort in knowing his struggles are over and that he is finally at peace.
"Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
- Matthew 11:28
