Charles “Bucky” Joseph Emerson, age 93, passed peacefully Tuesday September 27, 2022 at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born September 1, 1929 in Trenton, New Jersey, son of the late Charles J. Emerson, Sr. and Helen Emerson (nee Mershon). Bucky was preceded in passing by his wife Shirley Emerson (nee Aaronson) and is survived by his daughter Nancy Brady, her husband William Brady, his grandson Michael Brady, of Cape May, NJ, and his loving companion Shirley Monk of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Bucky graduated from Trenton High School and joined the US Army following World War II, where he served as a Staff Sergeant, during a tour of duty helping to rebuild Germany. He was an avid golfer and lifelong Mason. Before retiring to Myrtle Beach, Bucky worked as a professional designer on advanced energy projects at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. He enjoyed technical challenges, working on DIY projects and was always eager to help his friends and neighbors. Above all else, Bucky loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Bucky’s life will be held on Saturday October 1, 2022 at 10:00AM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
