Chad A. Cockrell, Jr.

Chad Anthony Cockrell Jr., 25, of Myrtle Beach, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on February 1, 2020. Chad was born October 30, 1994 in Myrtle Beach, a son to Chad Cockrell Sr. and Michele Cockrell. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents James and Odessa Mew, his grandfather Jay Slagsvold and grandfather Tommy Springfield.

In life, Chad worked in construction. In his leisure time, he enjoyed many sports including football, basketball and baseball. He also loved fishing, playing video games and spending time with friends. He is survived by a large and loving family who will forever cherish his memory. Survivors include his mother Michele Cockrell of Myrtle Beach, his father Chad Cockrell Sr. of Batesburg, SC, grandmother Linda Slagsvold of Conway, grandmother Patti Springfield of Batesburg, sister Kristen Campbell of Myrtle Beach, son Bentley Rich and his mother Cassidy Rich of Myrtle Beach, niece Laila Preece, nephew Micah Campbell, nephew Zane Campbell, brother-in-law Mark Campbell of Marble Falls, Texas and his uncles Richard, Frank and Danny Mew, all of Conway.

Chad’s family will receive and visit with friends on Saturday, February 8 from 2 – 4 PM at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet.
