Catherine Sue (Readnour) Holley

Catherine Sue Holley, 82, gained her wings with her loving family by her side on Thursday August 6, 2020 at her home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was born on May 14, 1938 in Danville, Kentucky to the late Clyde & Nellie Jane (Lee) Readnour.

Along with her parents, Sue is preceded in passing by her sisters, Ruby Platt, Dorothy Fite, Lucille McRoberts, Mable Keller, Wittie Noe, her brother, Charles Readnour; her great grandson, Talon Grey Hartless and her sisters in law, Peggy Lanham, Astera Readnour; and brother in law, Dale Coffman.

Sue was a hard working woman with a heart of gold. Her passion for helping people lead her to have a successful career as a skilled licensed practical nurse for many years. Following her well-deserved retirement from healthcare, Sue was able to enjoy the finer things in life. She relished sewing, listening to and playing music, spending time with her family and making memories with her friends. Sue was a faithful woman who was strong in her beliefs; and was a proud member of Murrells Inlet Church of God where she and her husband enjoyed volunteering at the food bank. Sue will be deeply missed but remembered for her compassionate spirit, kindness and love for her family.

Left to cherish Sue’s memory are her beloved husband, Mr. David “Mickey” Earl Holley, Sr. of Murrells Inlet; their children, David Holley of Murrells Inlet, Buddy Holley and his wife, Amy of Orlando, FL, Pat Whitehouse of Bedford, VA & Katrinka Smith and her husband, Russ of Goode, VA; her beloved grandchildren, David Holley, III and his wife, Chaise, Holley Perkins and her husband, Ken, Taylor Gokee and her husband, Mike, Stephen Smith and his wife, Stephanie, Andrew Holley, Sarah Pittard (Lindsey), Logan Gray, Shanna Holley & Michael Holley; her great-grandchildren, Braylon Conner Holley, Amelia Paige Perkins, Victoria Elizabeth Smith, Deegan Elliott Holley, Eason Carter Holley & Micah Russell Smith; sister, Billie Coffman; her brother, Paul Readnour; her brothers in law, Buddy Holley and his wife, Linda and Eddie Lanham; as well as a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Sue’s life will be held privately.
