Catherine Marie (Dittmore) Saunders

Catherine Marie Saunders, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 24, 2023 at her home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was born on April 4, 1939 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late John & Catherine Kress Dittmore.

Along with her parents, Catherine is reunited in passing with her beloved husband of over 62 years, David G. Saunders, Jr.; sister, JoAnne Dittmore; son in-law, Joseph Dallison Jr.; & brother in-law, Frank Kuca.

Catherine was a hardworking and dedicated woman with a heart of gold. She skillfully worked in several doctor’s offices over the years. In her free time, Catherine enjoyed the beach and found peace in the crashing waves. Catherine also enjoyed crafting- especially painting, dinning out with friends and making memories vacationing with her family. Catherine was her children’s biggest fan, and proudly cheered them on with all of their efforts. Above all else, Catherine loved her family with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Catherine’s memory are her adoring children, Debbie Dallison of Wheeling, West Virginia, Michael Saunders and life companion, Donna of Bryan, Ohio & Joe Saunders and wife, Kristy of Myrtle Beach; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Gennie Kuca of Wheeling, West Virginia;  several nieces, nephews and cousins, a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Catherine’s life will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Ave, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576, on Monday January 30, 2023 at 10:00AM. Inurnment will take place immediately following the mass, within the church columbarium.

The family will gather to greet friends on Sunday January 29, 2023 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina from 2:00PM until 4:00PM.
