Carol S. (Saunders) Eliason

Carol S. Eliason, 84, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday November 9, 2023 at her home in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. She was born on June 5, 1939 in Rockingham, North Carolina to the late Jesse & Nannie Tilton Saunders.

Along with her parents, Carol is reunited in passing with her beloved husband, Donald Lee Eliason- who left us in November of 2019; their son, Stephen Kerry Eliason; her sister, Joyce Speight; & brother, Larry Saunders.

Carol was an active woman with a heart of gold. She enjoyed long walks around the neighborhood with her friends and neighbors and traveling. Carole also enjoyed shopping, working in the yard, and cooking. Above all else, Carol loved her family with her whole heart. She truly relished time making memories and entertaining on the holidays. Carol will forever be remembered for her bright smile, quick wit and the love she had for her family.

Left to cherish Carol's memory are her children, Sharon Eliason of Myrtle Beach, Alan Eliason and his wife, Melanie of Florence, Greg Eliason of Surfside Beach & Donna Eliason of Conway; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Wednesday November 15, 2023 at 11:00AM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Burial will be held privately within Florence National Cemetery where Carol will be laid to rest with Don.
