Brenda Jo Brads “The Angel Lady” “Joey”, 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 30, 2020 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was born on June 13, 1947 in Bristol, Tennessee to the late William D. Coffey, Sr. & Evelyn (Sutherland) Coffey.
Along with her parents, Joey is reunited in death with her sisters, Suzanne Holland & Marilyn Coffey; as well as her step-son, Mark Hampton Brads.
Joey was a faithful woman with a heart of gold. She was an active member of Ocean Lakes Campground Ministries and found peace in collecting and creating angel figurine keepsakes. She will be deeply missed for her creativity and caring demeanor.
Left to cherish Joey’s memory are her beloved husband, Steven R. Brads of Surfside Beach; step-sons, Anthony “Tony” Brads and his wife, Kim of Culpepper, VA & Jamey Benjamin Brads and his wife, Laura of Richmond, VA; her brother, William D. Coffey, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO; step-grandchildren, Keegan, Colin, Kara, Chester & Ian; as well as a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of Joey’s life will be held at a later date.
