Obituary

Bobby Gene Martin, 83, of Hemingway, SC, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 14, 2023. He was born August 10, 1940, in Conway, SC, son of the late John Henry Martin and Wilma Hyman Martin.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Reynolds Martin; two sisters, Geraldine Parker, and Sara Spears; as well as an uncle, Jack Martin.

Survivors include his daughters, Sylvia Martin Lillquist and her husband, Mike of Murrells Inlet, SC, Denise Gray of Greenville, SC and Tina Naioti of Little River, SC; two sons, Marty Martin of Georgetown, SC and James McLain of Conway, SC; one brother, Henry Martin of Myrtle Beach, SC; and two grandchildren, Ryan Lillquist and Zach Lillquist.

Bobby proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, bass fishing and hunting; he was an avid outdoorsman. He owned and operated B&M Plumbing for many years.

The family will receive friends at Mr. Martin's residence on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 12:00-3:00pm.
