Billy Martin, III Obituary

Billy Ray Martin, III, 55, passed away peacefully on Monday January 5, 2026 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 16, 1970 to Debra Ann Baker Martin and the late Billy Ray Martin, Jr.

Along with his father, Billy is reunited in passing with his paternal grandparents, Billy R. Martin Sr., & Lucile Thomas Martin.

Billy was a hardworking man with a zest for life and heart of gold. He worked in construction for many years where his skills and expertise were highly sought after. He proudly owned and operated Martin Southeast Construction. In his free time, Billy relished having a good time and making memories with family and friends. He found peace while riding his motorcycle, restoring classic cars, drag racing, scuba diving and was an avid collector of antiques. Billy's true "Happy Place," was in Garret County Maryland at his river house. Billy also stayed active in his community and was a member of Poplar Community Church as well as several local clubs- including MI Street Rods. Above all else, Billy loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his quick wit, bright smile and the love he had for his family- especially his daughter and dogs.

Along with his mother, left to cherish Billy’s memory are his adoring wife, Mrs. Jennette Lynn Miles Martin of the home; beloved daughter, Kasey Nicole Martin Ray and her husband, Heath Ray of Pleasant Hill, SC; brother, Jeremy Warren Martin and wife, Kimberley of Bayboro, SC; nephew, Gavin Martin; niece, Olivia Martin; nephew, (Spencer) Eve Ammerman; grandmother, Carolyn Forwood; stepmother, Jean Martin of Loris, SC; as well as a large, loving, extended family; many beloved Aunts, Uncles and Friends; and many supportive friends and neighbors.

The family will gather to greet friends on Friday January 9, 2026 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 from, 6pm until 8pm.

A Celebration of Billy’s life will be held on Saturday January 10, 2026 at 11am, at Poplar Community Church, 5095 N Hwy 701, Conway, SC 29526 with burial to follow within Hillcrest Cemetery, 1000 SC-544, Conway, SC 29526

At the request of the family and in lieu of flowers, donations in Billy’s name may be made to Grateful Goldens of the Low Country, PO Box 2799, Myrtle Beach, SC 29578 or to Oakland Transportation Museum, 108 E. Liberty St. Oakland, MD 21550.
