Billie Jean Blanton

Billie Jean Jackson Blanton, 96 peacefully passed away on Tuesday January 13, 2026 in her home in Myrtle Beach, SC, surrounded by family.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James Hagood Blanton.   Billie was born on September 4,1929 in Charlotte, NC. 

Billie lived a full life.  She loved her time working in retail but what she cherished most was being a wife and mother to her husband Jimmy and five children.  She lived in Virginia, Maryland, Idaho as well North and South Carolina.

Billie is survived by her five children Barbara Thacker, her husband Tom of Nampa, ID, Jimmy Daryl Blanton and wife Sandy of Heathsville, VA, Rick Blanton and wife Kathleen of Wilmington, NC, Alan Blanton and wife Amy of Mechanicsville, VA and Danny Blanton of Myrtle Beach, SC.  She has eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and a much-loved sister-in-law Doris Jackson as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Billie’s niece Faye Craddock and her husband Larry for all their help.

In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established to assist her son Danny Blanton in restarting his life after dedicating the last ten years to taking excellent care of Billie.  Please send contributions to Venmo@PHOTO-RB.

There will be a private Celebration of Life held in Wilmington, NC.
