Beverly Ann Matarasso

Beverly Ann Matarasso of Murrells Inlet, SC, was joyfully received in Heaven on April 16, 2026.

Beverly, a devout Christian, lived a life of love.  And to know her was to love her. She was a humble woman with an infectious smile.

Born in Chicago, Beverly was both an artist and an athlete. She excelled at everything she did. She was a remarkable Hair Stylist for her entire career and loved to make her clients look and feel beautiful.

She exchanged her early love for tennis to horseback riding and rode like the wind! She combined her love for horses with swimming and swam and rode over the US and abroad for many years.

Beverly loved to serve God by volunteering in many different capacities. She served at many church sponsored food banks. With her love for dogs, she served at an animal shelter and had no fear of walking pit bulls. Most noteworthy was her decision to mentor a young boy in a homeless shelter. Over time, Beverly led the boy to Christ and he went on to serve at church. He was always welcomed by her family into many holiday gatherings. Beverly was also responsible for her husband's acceptance of Christ as his Saviour!

Beverly is survived by Harvey, her life partner for 50 years, her God loving sisters, Gerry and Marcy, and many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Burroughs Funeral Home at 3558 Old Kings Highway Murrells Inlet, SC at 3:00 p.m, Monday May 11, 2026.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation to the Lowcountry Food Bank which serves 10 counties in SC.
