Betty Damron Reeves, 91, left her earthly home in Pawleys Island to reside for eternity in her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. She entered this world with her twin brother on September 24,1928 in Kenova, West Virginia to the late Boyd & Ethel (Little) Damron.
Along with her parents, Betty is reunited in death with her twin brother, Bill Damron; brothers, Dick Damron, Jack Damron, and Earl Damron, as well as, her sister, Ona Lee Kennedy.
Betty was employed at the early age of fourteen and worked tirelessly until her well-deserved retirement from the Union Carbide Corporation in Charleston, WV. She had a prestigious position as a computer problem solver in billing. Betty left her beloved WV Mountains, to join her much missed family on the sandy coasts of SC. After building her home in Heritage Plantation, she became an active member of St. Paul Waccamaw United Methodist Church. She contributed her time and talents to the congregation. This included, caring for the nursery, (for which it was renamed: The Betty Reeves Nursery, in her honor) to working in the annual Peach Festival and rummage sale. She was crafty and selfless in her hobbies and interests. Betty loved quilting, monogramming, and ceramics, but most of all making people smile. Betty took great joy in giving back to others. She has crafted and gifted a multitude of quilts and monogrammed gifts to various charities and organizations in the area over the years.
Above all else, Betty adored her family with her whole being. Her beautiful blue eyes, bright smile, and golden heart will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory is her only child, Lee Anne Register of Murrells Inlet, SC; her three grandchildren: Matthew Midkiff and his wife Tiffany of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Tiffany Register Sagunarthy and her husband, Dr. Kavi Sagunarthy of Fort Mill, SC; and Katelyn Register of Murrells Inlet, SC; plus five great-granddaughters: Irelyn (8), Mae (6), Rose (4), Ellie (2) and Lily (1); several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family; and many supportive friends and caring neighbors.
