Betty May Dolan, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on January 30, 1936, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania.
Betty spent many years living in Sellersville and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before later residing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence Wilson and Elizabeth Hoffa. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Dolan, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage, and her sister, Carol Kitch.
A devoted and hardworking woman, Betty was employed as a buyer for the former Allen’s Department Store in Germantown, Pennsylvania. Outside of her career, she found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader and especially loved doing crossword puzzles. Above all, Betty cherished time spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “MeMom.”
Betty is survived by her loving family: her son, William Samarco (Maria) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her son, Robert Samarco of Gillet, Pennsylvania; and her sister, Sandra Dooley (John) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ryan Samarco of Davidson, North Carolina; Christopher Samarco of Charlotte, North Carolina; Great grandchildren Trevor Samarco of Sellersville, Pennsylvania; and Madison Samarco of Sellersville, Pennsylvania, along with many cherished nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Betty will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the joy she brought to those who knew her.
