Ben Franklin Gardner

Ben Franklin Gardner, age 85, passed away peacefully Sunday September 17, 2023, at his residence in Galivants Ferry.

Born in Chesterfield County, SC, Ben was the son of the late William Lenord Gardner and Mary Gertrude Gardner.  Ben loved to work and enjoyed his time as a plumber for Jerry Johnson Plumbing.  He also enjoyed spending time with family, especially with his wife Rose.

In addition to his parents, Ben is preceded in death by his sisters, Julie Mae Steen, and Betty O’Neil Jenkins.

Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years, Rose Richardson; daughter, Sherry Lynn Gardner; sons, Frankie Gardner, Scott Gardner, and Billy Gardner; adopted daughter, Sunshine; sister, Peggy Elaine O’Neil and brother, Johnnie Rance Gardner.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Ben’s life will be held 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Rehobeth Baptist Church, 2800 Dog Bluff Road, Galivants Ferry, SC 29544.

The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Lower Cape Fear Hospice for making a difference in the passing of Mr. Ben Gardner. And to Brandy and Kandy for all your help.

You fought a good fight.

You finished your test.

I love you, Daddy Ben.

But God loved you best.

So, fly high with the Angels.
