Barbara Jean Teceno, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 9, 2022 at St. Gabriel Assisted Living in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was born on September 25, 1933 in Middleborough, Massachusetts to the late John Healey & Annie Cecelia Maddigan Healey.
Along with her parents, Barbara is reunited in passing with her beloved husband of over 54 years, Frank James Teceno.
Barbara was a well-educated woman with a heart of gold. She graduated from Middleborough Memorial High School, class of 1951. She went on to become a skilled and dedicated maternity nurse for St. Luke Hospital in Middleborough for many years. While at the hospital, Barbara was a childbirth instructor who proudly assisted many new mothers. During that time, Barbara’s elderly mother would take time to knit booties for newborns, placing them in shoeboxes for Barbara to present to expecting mothers. When the hospital closed, Barbara went on to become a paramedical nurse for Prudential Insurance Company. In her free time, Barbara loved spending time at the beach. She relished the wind on her face and the warm sun on her shoulders. More recently, Barbara appreciated time spent with her family, making memories. She would proudly spend every Sunday at Lynne & Dave’s house, for family dinner. Above any and all else, Barbara loved her family with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her quick wit, bright smile and the pride she had, having brought so many beautiful lives in to this world.
Left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her adoring daughters, Lynne Pelton and her husband, David (who was like a son to Barbara) of Myrtle Beach & Nancy Godek and husband, Kevin of Plymouth, MA; grandchildren, Melanie Lelio (whom she adored), and her husband, Jason Lelio of Naples, FL & Dennis, MA, Eric Pelton and wife, Tracey of Amherst, NH, Matthew Pelton and wife, Afton of Beaver Falls, PA, & Kevin Godek, and wife, Megan of Bridgewater, MA; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Lelio, Sam Lelio, Ben Godek, and Zoey Godek, Mary Grace Pelton, & grand-dog, Piper Pelton; sisters, Marilyn Campbell and the late, Walter Campbell of Middleboro, MA & Cristine Every-Antall of Payson, AZ; sister in-law, Theresa Teceno Sylvia; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family, and many supportive friends and neighbors.
