Anne Laura (Loughnane) McDonnell

Anne Laura McDonnell, 80, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday April 10, 2024 at Embrace Hospice House of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born on May 17, 1943 in Manhattan, New York to the late Stephen Loughnane & Catherine Lenehan Loughnane.

Anne was a distinctive woman with a heart of gold. She had an eye for beauty and a knack for detail. In her free time, Anne could be found expressing her interior designer skills and tending to her garden. Anne took pride in her meticulous home and was proud of the clean and tidy space she provided. Anne worked alongside her husband for many years and was considered the, “President in Control.” Her family proudly owns and operates Surfside Equipment Rental & Sales and will continue the family legacy. Above all else, Anne loved her family with her whole being. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her quick wit, her bright smile, true kindness and the love she had for her family.

Left to cherish Anne’s memory are her beloved husband of over 58 years, Joe McDonnell of Murrells Inlet; their children, son, Jimmy McDonnell and wife, Suzanne of Simpsonville, SC, daughter, Laura Leonard and her husband, Scott of Murrells Inlet & daughter, Paula Warren and husband, Dustin of Murrells Inlet; adoring grandchildren, Jared & Ryan McDonnell, Grace & Colin Leonard and Colton & Charlotte Warren; her sisters, Eileen Murphy(departed), Marie Cox and Joan Loughnane; brother, John Loughnane; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends, neighbors and patrons.

A Celebration of Anne’s life will be held on Saturday May 25, 2024 at 1:00PM at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, 2637 US-17 BUS, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. The family will gather to greet friends immediately following the service within the fellowship hall.
