Anna Geraldine (Strickroth) Simmons

Anna Geraldine Simmons, 89, of Murrells Inlet, SC, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday October 9, 2025.   She was born on December 7, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Joseph & Margaret Fisher Strickroth.

Along with her parents, Anna is reunited in passing with her beloved husband of over 43 wonderful years, Cameron Simmons, Sr.; and her sisters, Dorothy Rambo & Joan Strickroth.

Before moving to Murrells Inlet, Anna spent most of her life in Vienna, VA. She was a school   bus driver for Fairfax County Schools for many years. Anna and her husband were both pastors at Rhema Faith Centre in Vienna, VA  until they retired.   Then realizing she wasn’t quite ready for retirement, Anna went to work  at Giant Food, in customer service,  where she  stayed for 17 years!

Anna was a loving and caring woman who was a faithful member of Journey Church where she made many close friends. Anna enjoyed quilting with her church group and striking up conversation with anyone who had the time. Above all else, Anna loved her family with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Anna’s memory are her adoring sons, Cameron Simmons, Jr., and wife Carole of Murrells Inlet, Craig Simmons and wife, Janet of Murrells Inlet & Charles Simmons and wife, Debbie of Strasburg, Virginia; four grandchildren, Kelly Simmons of Warrenton, VA, Sabrina Simmons of Myrtle Beach, SC, Matt Simmons of Warrenton, VA & Charles Simmons, Jr., of Nokesville, VA; four great-grandchildren, Caleb Murphy of Murrells Inlet and Riley Murphy of Kannapolis, NC and Savannah & McKenzi Simmons of Mineral VA; as well as a  loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Anna’s life will be held at her second home, Journey Church, 3690 Palmetto Pointe Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588 on Saturday November 15, 2025 at 3pm. The family will gather to greet friends from 2pm until the time of service.
