Ann Marie (Waters) Edman

Ann Marie Edman, lovingly known as “Annie” to family and friends, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 82 in Surfside Beach, South Carolina.

Born in the Bronx, New York, on August 18, 1943, Ann was the cherished daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Waters. A graduate of St. Pius X in the Bronx, she devoted her early years to religious service with the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt, caring for children at St. Dominic’s Home with compassion and unwavering faith.

Ann later built a successful career in New York, working at RCA Global Communications and Flushing Hospital, where she was recognized for her dedication and service. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Mel’s Parish in Flushing, Queens, where she faithfully served in religious education, the rectory, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, touching countless lives through her kindness and generosity.

In her late twenties, Ann met the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” Edman. Together, they shared 35 happy years of marriage filled with travel, family gatherings, and treasured memories until his passing in 2007.

After relocating to South Carolina in 2021, Ann embraced retirement while remaining deeply connected to her faith, family, and friends. Known affectionately as “Miss Ann,” she brought warmth, encouragement, and joy to everyone she met. She especially loved family gatherings, crocheting, reading, and celebrating her Irish heritage.

Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Edman; her parents, Stephen and Elizabeth Waters; her brother, Dennis Waters; sisters, Julia Binger, and Betty Diver; and several beloved family members.

She is lovingly survived by her nieces Karen Zukarfein (Doug), Barbara Arace (Bob), Elizabeth Farah (John), Nancy Belmont (Jerry), and Jeanne Coringrato (Al); her nephews Richard Binger, Michael Diver (Denise), and James Diver (Theresa); 19 great-nieces and nephews; 22 great-great-nieces and nephews; many treasured friends; and countless others whose lives she touched with her kindness, faith, and compassion.

Ann’s legacy is one of love, friendship, faith, and service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
