Alice Diana (Austin) Russell

Diana A. Russell, 74, of Murrells Inlet, SC, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. She was born June 7, 1948 in Charlotte, NC, daughter of the late Arthur William Austin, Jr. and Sara Matilda Walker Austin.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Jewel Ann Austin Loughman; and brother, Arthur William Austin, III.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-six years, Thomas Russell of Murrells Inlet, SC; a daughter, Kristy Blackburn and her husband, David of Murrells Inlet; two sisters, Billie Jean Austin Haston of Charlotte, NC and Patricia Ann Austin Tucker and her husband, Mike of Sherrills Ford, NC; two grandsons, Devin Blackburn and his wife, Ashley of Pawleys Island and Davey Blackburn and his wife, Maria of Charlotte, NC; three greatgrandchildren, Cuauthy Blackburn of Charlotte, NC, Archer Blackburn of Pawleys Island and Isla Blackburn of Pawleys Island.

Diana enjoyed flowers, soap operas, riding the golf cart, online shopping and above all spending time with her family. She adored her three great grandchildren, and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. 

A celebration of Diana’s life will be held 2:00pm Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, 2637 US-17 Business, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Diana’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/
