William Player Obituary

William Perry Player, 74, of Andrews, SC was called home on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Lake City Community Hospital.

He was born February 27, 1945, the son of Daniel and Lizzie McConnell Player in Williamsburg County.  He served in the US Army and was a member of Spring Gulley Baptist Church.  He liked camping, travelling, and fishing with his son and grandson.

He is survived by his son, William Danny Player; daughter-in-law, Glenda Long; grandson, William Evan Player; brothers, Charles (Sharon) Player of Salters and Ronald (Nancy) Player of Russellville; sister, Christine Strickland of Summerville; and numerous (but loved) nieces, nephews, and great nieces/nephews. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Player; brothers, Dan and Leonard Player; sisters, Orene Player, Leila Robinson, and Joanne Howard.

Services will be 2pm, Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Spring Gulley Baptist Church in Andrews.

The family would like to thank Rev. Tommy Barnhill, the Amedisys Hospice staff, and Lake City Community Hospital staff for the wonderful care they provided.
