Vincent Joseph San Roman, 93, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at his Myrtle Beach residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Newark, NJ, Vincent was the son of the late Pedro J. San Roman and Esperanza San Roman. Following the early death of his mother, Vincent lived in numerous orphanages in New Jersey. He joined the United States Navy during World War II, serving from 1944 to 1946 in Okinawa and at The Battle of Iwo Jima. After returning home Vincent attended Lincoln Technical School and owned his own construction business. A member of St. Michael Catholic Church, he enjoyed visiting horse race tracks, sharing jokes and playing golf. In addition to his parents, Vincent in predeceased by his first wife of 33 years, JoAnn Bodnar San Roman; sisters, Angelina Ruffalo, Manuella Boscia and Esperanza Holland; brothers, Peter San Roman and John San Roman.
Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Loraine San Roman; daughters, Diane San Roman and her husband Jack Pasquale of Long Island, NY; Laura San Roman and her husband Mitchel Bernstein of Pine Brook, NJ; step-daughter, Lori Murphy and her husband Joseph Murphy of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Cara Bernstein, Taylor Bernstein and Ryan Murphy.
A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 AM, Monday July 8, 2019 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Garden City. Interment will follow in the church columbarium with military honors. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday July 7, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home, Murrells Inlet.
