Tonie Ellen Ewoldt

Tonie Ellen Ewoldt, age 70 of Seagate Village passed away, Sunday, January 20, 2019 at her home.

Born March 9, 1948 in Davenport, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph Lawrence and Darlene Louise Ewoldt.  Tonie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and taught business education and computer science for 18 years.  She then started her career with Women of the Moose as Office Manager from 1988-1990 and then Director of Administration from 1990-1999.  Tonie held the esteemed position of Grand Chancellor of the Women of Moose from January 1999 until retiring in August 2005.  She had joined the Women of the Moose at Davenport, Iowa Chapter 106 in September 1970 and became a Life Member in January 1991.  She served her Chapter in many capacities where she was a member of the 50 Division of the Moose 25 Club, achieved her Academy of Friendship in May 1972, College of Regents in June 1985 and Star Recorder in June 1989 and has remained an active member.  Tonie moved to the area in 2013 where she was a member of Low Country Community Church, Murrells Inlet where she was involved in many activities including Community Lunch, N.O.A.H. and Women’s Salt.  She had also worked with H & R Block in Illinois and later here in Socastee. 

Surviving are her sister, Terry Brus of Tennessee; brother, Wayne Mark Ewoldt (Cheryl) of Desert Palm Springs, CA; nephews, Jared, Jason and Mark; niece, Dana; numerous great nieces and nephews; several cousins; a special close friend, Sallie Sauer of Myrtle Beach and her loving companion dog, Gracie

Inurnment will be later in Davenport, Iowa.
