Thomas Patrick Hourican

Thomas Patrick Hourican, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday May 20, 2019 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was born on February 6, 1929 in New York, New York to the late Thomas Patrick Hourican, Sr. & Frances Mulligan Hourican.

Along with his parents, Tom is reunited in death with his beloved wife, Mrs. Florence Nelson Hourican; his brothers, Michael & James Hourican; as well as his sisters, Margaret Dugard & Mary Peterson.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, Tom went on to become a systems analyst with IBM. Following his retirement and relocation to Myrtle Beach, Tom was able to enjoy the simple things in life. He loved his family and grandchildren with his whole heart and will be truly missed.

Left to cherish Tom’s memory are his children, Thomas (Katherine) Hourican, of New York, NY, Steven Hourican, of Vero Beach, FL, Daniel (Bernadette) Hourican, of Hollywood, FL, Gregory Hourican, of Poughkeepsie, NY, Richard Hourican of Dallas, TX, Donna Marie Hourican of Myrtle Beach, SC & Melanie Hourican of Ft. Worth, TX; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Flanagan of Boynton Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews; a large, loving extended family; and many supportive friends and neighbors.

Celebration of life will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 17 Broadhurst Ave, Hawthorne, NY.  Burial will follow at Noon in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY and luncheon will follow from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at 2 Cleveland St. Valhalla, NY within the Valhalla Crossing Presidential Railroad Car.
